Paul Jacobi moves musically between super catchy pop hooklines, melodic rap flows and a touch of 2023 R&B, telling stories from a life that happened exactly the same way. Just like in his debut EP
"Einzimmerwohnung".
Paul was born in Hamburg in 1995. Already in primary school he trades one hour of maths for singing in the choir. "A good deal," he says today. At home, because of his parents, the Beatles and Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles, but also Udo Jürgens and Zara Leander are on, and in Paul's children's room, of course, Eminem, 50 Cent, Usher and sometime Samy Deluxe. From these pop-cultural fixed points between what was and what is, as well as his mother's love for lyricism, a feeling for melodies gradually emerges and the courage to perhaps try it all himself.
And Paul followed the music. From Hamburg to Hanover, via Berlin to Mannheim and finally back to Berlin. He now writes a lot for other artists from various genres, and in spring 2022 he went into the studio with producer Malte Kuhn aka MQN (Cro, Bosse, Provinz, Nina Chuba). This is where "Einzimmerwohnung" was made.
